Discover Las Vegas
Las Vegas is renowned as the lively, pumping heart of the American mid-West. With more casinos per capita than any other city on earth, Las Vegas is the gambling capital of the world. For those that don’t care for gambling, there are plenty of other pastimes to keep you occupied during a stay in what is affectionately known as “Sin City”.
Lake Las Vegas offers much more of a peaceful setting for those keen to escape the hustle & bustle of life on the Las Vegas strip.
If it’s retail therapy you’re into, there are several shopping malls between McCarran Airport and the Stratosphere. There is also a huge choice of entertainment with musical and magic shows (including Cirque du Soleil shows) as well as fine art galleries, museums and some of the best dining establishments in the United States. Some hotels feature their own complimentary shows including the world-famous musical fountains at Bellagio, the volcano at the Mirage and Circus acts at Circus Circus. The nightlife is second to none with a wonderful array of discos and clubs to choose from.
Grand Canyon
Located just two and a half hours’ drive southeast from Las Vegas, Grand Canyon West is a daytrippers destination outside of the Grand Canyon National Park. The prime attraction here is the spine-tingling Skywalk, a semi-circled bridge featuring a glass bottom. At Guano Point, visitors can dine on the precipice, while at Highpoint Hike, 360-degree panoramas can be found, overlooking the Colorado River. Apart from soaking in the views, visitors can enjoy zip-lining, four-by-four excursions and helicopter tours or relax with a boat ride along the river, or learn more about the area’s cultural heritage through a range of tours.
Weddings
Las Vegas famously offers plenty of wedding options and depending on what you’re looking for you could have a beautiful lakeside wedding or a speedy ceremony performed by an Elvis impersonator. All that’s required is a marriage license – pre-application is advised through the Clark County NV website.

Weather
Las Vegas enjoys superb weather year round with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year. The difference between winter and summer in Las Vegas is that in the winter (Nov – Feb), temperatures drop and if you’re planning an evening stroll down The Strip, it’s recommended to take a light jacket or cardigan. Humidity isn’t normally a problem either – the desert environment creates a dry heat, meaning that even when it’s at it’s hottest between Jun – Aug, the temperatures aren’t restrictive.
